Every school added to our program requires a kitchen. These must be equipped to properly prepare the meals that Feed The Hungry provides and each kitchen costs approximately $25,000 a year to open and operate.

When a school in the Mexican "campo", or countryside, applies to become a member school in the Feed The Hungry program, they usually do not have an existing kitchen facility in which to properly prepare the food we deliver to them each week. Since proper balance and nutrition are cornerstones of our program, a functional kitchen is a must. To do the initial set-up and fit-out of one kitchen and to then operate that kitchen for one year costs approximately $25,000 USD.
Feed The Hungry has a list of schools waiting to join our wonderful program but, until we can help them get set up with a kitchen, we cannot begin the work of feeding the children in that community.
